REACH! Partnership High School

English 

The ELA department at REACH! Partnership High School uses the SpringBoard curriculum to challenge students to read deeply, think critically, and write persuasively. Through the exploration of rich and complex texts, our rock star team of teachers guide students to question assumptions, analyze diverse viewpoints, and articulate their ideas with intellectual rigor. Our program fosters inquiry and a mastery of communication, preparing students to engage in public discourse as informed and thoughtful citizens.

In the spring of 2025, the ELA department began celebrating the written accomplishments of our students in Our Words, a REACH! in-house publication. Students participate in their own book-signing of Our Words when their works are highlighted at our Literacy Night.

The ELA department uses a data-driven approach and research-based strategies to ensure that all students are prepared for the demands of college and career readiness. Over the past three years, the ELA department has experienced significant growth in the percentage of students meeting with proficiency on MCAP and earning passing grades on Advanced Placement tests.
