Prepare to lead in safeguarding your community. At The Reach Partnership High School, the Law & Public Safety pathway empowers students with the skills, knowledge, and certifications needed to protect and serve. Whether responding to emergencies or pursuing careers in public safety, students are equipped to make a real difference in their communities.

The program offers hands-on simulations, real-world projects, and critical certifications. Students are offered a 40-hour course in their senior year to become certified emergency telecommunicators through the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch, provided they score 80% or higher on the final exam. In partnership with the Baltimore City Fire Department and the Baltimore City Youth Works program, students gain summer employment opportunities. For those interested in law enforcement, the program also connects students with recruiting officers from the police cadet program.

What sets this pathway apart is its focus on real-world experiences and strong local partnerships, preparing students for careers in public safety, law enforcement, and emergency management. By completing this pathway, students are not just prepared for the next step—they are equipped to become leaders in safeguarding our communities, contributing to the greater mission of “Moving From Good to Great.”

JROTC
The purpose of the Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AJROTC) program is to prepare students for success in school and life by developing leadership, discipline, and strong character. AJROTC teaches cadets practical skills such as teamwork, communication, decision-making, and personal responsibility while encouraging respect for others and a commitment to doing what is right. The program supports students in building confidence, improving citizenship, and learning how to set goals, manage time, and stay motivated—skills that can be used in any career path, not just the military.
The mission of Army JROTC is “to motivate young people to be better citizens.” This mission is accomplished by promoting leadership development, civic responsibility, and community service through classroom instruction and hands-on activities. AJROTC helps cadets grow into responsible leaders who demonstrate integrity, accountability, and perseverance, while also encouraging physical fitness, respect for authority, and pride in contributing positively to their school, family, and community.
